But after attending a training seminar, he returns to discover that the Company decided to out source the call center to India. And if Todd wants to be the manager of the call center, he must move to India which he reluctantly does. And he has a hard time adjusting to their customs. And he has to deal with the assistant manager who wants to be manager, so he is doing everything to get rid of him. He meets another American assigned there, Charlie and an Australian whom he leans on. Outsourced Movie ReviewI love this show! I haven't watched a sitcom since 'Samantha Who' was canceled. This show is hilarious. I love seeing more and more minorities on TV. Yes, Indians do seem to be the new 'comic relief'. I hope they benefit from their newfound popularity and not be taken as a stereotype. Please keep this show on the air NBC! Yeah, 'more colorful'. "Detroit, home of motor vehicles and black people." LOL I really hope they filmed some of these scenes in India, though I doubt it. But it would be nice if their country benefit from the filming. Oh, and what is up with the 'quiet girl?!' America shipping jobs overseas really is an issue here that needs to be dealt with, but it's nice to see this political problem being dealt with in a comedic way. |

Young Adam is a powerful and atmospheric drama set on the canals between Glasgow and Edinburgh during the 1950s. Ewan McGregor is Joe, a drifter working on a barge, when he and his boss find a body in the canal. As he begins an affair with the bargeman’s wife (Tilda Swinton), we find out more about his previous relationship with the drowned woman (Emily Mortimer). Adapted from the novel by Scottish Beat writer Alexander Trocchi, Young Adam is, in some ways, a kitchen sink drama – a vivid picture of working class life in its unpleasant reality. One of the best examples of this type of film is Room at the Top (1959). But Young Adam has existentialist overtones: Joe is alienated and passive, and not only do his numerous sexual couplings offer him little pleasure, but in rejecting the only thing that could redeem him, he condemns himself to a meaningless life. This might sound too depressing, but screenwriter and director David Mackenzie gives the film great depth and sensuality. Very interesting. ****/***** stars. |

Gremlins 2: The New Batch Movie ReviewOne of my favorite films. ***** out of 5 This here is Joe Dante’s best film. It’s a delightful and absolutely charming dark comedy. I begged my mom to take me to see this back in 1990 and thankfully I can say I saw this on the big screen. Years later when I watch it, I can catch all of the little references and nods to other great films of the past. The Warner Brothers Looney Tune cartoons have obviously made an impact on the directorial style of Joe Dante. What’s great is the combination of this type of humor blended with these devious little monsters wrecking havoc in the Clamp Building. Speaking of Clamp, John Glover was excellent as Daniel Clamp (a parody of Donald Trump). He’s absolutely hilarious! There are many terrific special effects and sequences in the film. It’s hard to tell you which scene is my favorite because I adore every moment of the film. I will say one of the scenes that sticks out for me is when the Bat Gremlin flies out into New York City by day. I just love those excellent shots of him flying through the sky. Of course, the Brain Gremlin and the ‘New York, New York’ number is fantastic as well. "Is eeeverybody heere?" And who could forget when the Gremlins got their revenge for Leonard Maltin’s lambasting of the first Gremlins movie? All this is accompanied by a fantastic Jerry Goldsmith score (which happens to be one of my favorites of his as well). The collaboration between Goldsmith and Dante isn’t unlike that of Hitchcock and Herrmann or Spielberg and Williams. The film abounds with dark jollity and watching it you can tell that the filmmakers had a fun time making the picture. To include the audience as part of the goings on, is a real treat. Out of all the thousands of films I have seen, none have been or ever will be more entertaining than Gremlins 2. I LOVE it. |

Working on a homicide case, he begins to unearth evidence which suggests that the entire justice system is willingly turning a blind eye to the abuses of the this force. When his life and that of his girlfriend are threatened from his research, he join forces with his editor, a once-famous reporter, and a renown private detective to bring down the F.R.A.T. and every one behind it. Edison Movie Reviewstrong at the beginning, weak at the end Edison starts out as a good,solid action thriller. The story builds up pretty nice, even Justin Timberlake surprises with his acting. But as the movie move’s on it turns into a normal average action flick, flamethrowers included. A pity when you consider the star packed cast(Kevin spacey, Morgan freeman, ll cool j). The violence is hard and real, especially when the journalist and his girlfriend are being beat up. But turns overdone at the end of the movie, with big shootouts and trunks full of army stock. overall i’ve came to this conclusion, Edison: an average movie that could be so much more…. i give it 5 out of 10…. m.w. |

Home of the Brave Movie ReviewI'm Ashamed I Went To The Advanced Screening Of This I am a film student and tonight Producer Rob Cowan came to our campus to show the first advanced screening of this film. Naturally, many students took advantage of this hoping to see a decent, entertaining film… HOWEVER, There aren't adequate words to describe how awful this film is. I knew going into it that this film was probably not going to be some engaging, powerful war drama, but still something to leave audiences satisfied. The reasons why this movie was awful 1. The acting is preposterous, not one character (Samuel L., Jessica Biel, 50 Cent (Obviously)) was well acted in any manner. 2. It is one of the most poorly written I have ever been privy too. Feeding off of the topical debates over the war in iraq, the script is ridden with clichés and feels like a Lifetime Movie gone wrong. 3. The directing to say the least is an absolute disgrace. This film is horribly structured and a complete headache as a result 4. 50 Cent. Going in, I was ready to give him the benefit of the doubt and judge his acting abilities fairly without any prior stigmas. Sadly, The minute he opened his mouth he erased all doubt that he has absolutely no place in this film Typically, I am not a big fan of completely trashing a film. I believe that my opinion is my own and it is wrong to spread that on others. With that being said, I can say that this is the one film that I have no problem doing so. If in the event you would like to judge for yourself, don't say I didn't warn you when your cursing out the Movie Theatre manager for not giving you a refund. |

Each regional station have their own police team depicted in their region. So, there is a Berlin team, a Hamburg team, and so on – each have their own episodes under the common label. Larger regional stations like WDR (Cologne) add 3 or 4 episodes each year, smaller ones like tiny Radio Bremen just 1. The style and setting vary with the teams – that is part of the fun of the series. You’ll never be able to hear that song again without looking over your shoulder. Play Misty for Me Movie ReviewA classic thriller that was ahead of its time! The directorial debut for Clint Eastwood was this classic suspense thriller that's both intelligent and shocking. Dashing California DJ has a one night stand with an obsessive fan, who will have his love at ANY cost! While a bit on the dated side, Play Misty for Me still works well as a steely, nail-biter of a film. The film's premise is clever, especially for its time, and escalates into an intense suspense piece. Eastwood's direction is well-done, nicely using the coastal filming locations. Eastwood also builds some great sequences of shock and tension, especially for the films edgy climax. Eastwood himself does a great performance as the tormented DJ. Jessica Walter however steals the show. Walter's performance is absolutely powerful and she comes off as one of the best psycho-females of cinematic history! She's simply unforgettable. A suspense masterpiece through and through, Play Misty for Me has since gone on to be quite an influential film and one that well-stands the test of time. Thriller fans should not miss it! **** out of **** |

| Streaming Flicka (2006) Full movie Online Posted: 01 Feb 2014 03:55 PM PST  Flicka (2006) iMDB Rating: 6.1 Coming of age story set in the mountain vistas, A headstrong 16 year old Katy McLaughlin desires to work on her family’s mountainside horse ranch, although her father insists she finish boarding school. Katy finds a mustang in the hills near her ranch. Katy then sets her mind to tame a mustang and prove to her father she can run the ranch. But when tragedy happens, it will take all the love and strength the family can muster to restore hope. Flicka Movie ReviewBankable "Flicka" (2006) bridges several sub-genres, unfortunately it is one of the weakest examples of each. It's a horse movie (the original is better, as are "National Velvet", The Horse Whisperer" and for that matter most episodes of "The Saddle Club" and "Spin & Marty"). It's a "wild mustangs as a metaphor for the changing West" movie ("The Misfits" and "Billy Jack" do it better). It's an overwrought coming of age melodrama (countless other films do this better as well as most of the stuff you find playing on Lifetime). It's also an Alison Lohman film and in all fairness contains one of her best performances. Lohman is always excellent and in "Flicka" she is given a lot to work with and handles it all quite well. However, the scripting and editing assembly work are so weak that her strong performance (and nice supporting work by Maria Bello and Ryan Kwanten) cannot turn this thing into a high quality film. You might notice that neither the two screenwriters nor the director have been involved in any feature productions since the release of the film. "Flicka" was a major release (over 2900 theaters in the U.S.) and turned a profit at the box office. I credit shrewd packaging by the film's producers as they focused from inception on insuring that the project would be bankable. They incorporated elements that pre-sold the film beyond its target audience of pre-teen girls. Tim McGraw was cast to bring in his large fan base, Kwanten was counted on to draw a fair number of teenage girls into the multi- plex, and there were so few live action family films in 2006 that it was able to tap into an under-supplied market. As for Mary O'Hara's beloved children's book (My Friend Flicka-previously adapted into two feature films and a television show, is credited), it would be more accurate to say "inspired by" rather than "adapted from". The original's ten-year-old hero has been changed to a 16-year-old heroine named Katy McLaughlin (Lohman). I normally rant a bit when an older actress is cast as a teenager but Lohman is the Mary Pickford of her day and with her cute face and freckles still looks physically believable playing a teen. Her new look for the film, long curly hair-dyed dark, makes her look a lot like Kari Russell (insert "very Irish" here). In this remake it's totally Katy's story (in the original the parents had a more central role) and is told from her point-of-view. She even does a short voice-over commentary to begin and close the film. Normally this POV stuff leads to viewer identification and connection, but the scripting and directing works against Lohman and you stay distanced from her character. Katy is mega-headstrong, uncomfortable and bored at her boarding school but at one with the wilds of her family's horse ranch in Wyoming. Her father is grooming Katy's older brother Howard to eventually take over the ranch, clueless about Howard's desire to escape and about Katy's affinity for the place. She is the chip-off-the-old-block, not her brother. The title character is a two-year old black mustang mare that is a source of conflict between Katy and her father for most of the film. While the movie looks pretty the thin plot, the poor sequencing, and absence of "genuine" emotion" doesn't add up to a particularly satisfying viewing experience. Then again, what do I know? I'm only a child. |

The Penguins of Madagascar Movie ReviewHas more potential and humor than any other new nick show With the Madagscar movie franchise it seems the penguins became very famous. So let's see how a series made especially for them works. It's hilarious, it's fun, it's entertaining and it has a lot of potential. I really hope it stays as long as the Spongebob series. So original, with lovable characters and a good story in each episode. It's funny when it wants to be, the cast is simply amazing. At first a show for them didn't seem like such a good idea, but let me tell you that it was the best idea anyone could have had for TV. Grown-ups give the show a chance kids and adults are bound to have a good time with the penguins. I really hope it stays that good 'cause you can't find any new show as successful as this, these days. It's a 10 of 10!!! |
