Watch Inland Empire (2006) Full movie Online Posted: 05 Feb 2014 11:20 AM PST Inland Empire (2006) iMDB Rating: 7.0 Date Released : 7 February 2007 Genre : Drama, Mystery, Thriller Stars : Laura Dern, Jeremy Irons, Justin Theroux, Karolina Gruszka Movie Quality : BRrip Format : MKV Size : 700 MB A blonde actress is preparing for her biggest role yet, but when she finds herself falling for her co-star, she realizes that her life is beginning to mimic the fictional film that they’re shooting. Adding to her confusion is the revelation that the current film is a remake of a doomed Polish production, 47, which was never finished due to an unspeakable tragedy. Inland Empire Movie Review One of the few films to actually scare me – a wild, beautiful trip I just saw the NY premier of Inland Empire, and it was so refreshing to once again be transported in a way only David Lynch can transport somebody. Inland Empire is Lynch at his best – funny, thoughtful, eerie, beautiful, dark, deeply disturbing, and terrifying in a way that few horror films have ever affected me. The film is a slow burn, taking its time (about 3 hours), leaping through realities and bizarre encounters, continually keeping the audience asking themselves what reality they are experiencing, and what that reality means. Laura Dern gives an outstanding performance as the tagline's "girl in trouble." She goes to places I don't ever remember seeing her go, from the naive to the terrifying, truly exposed. I've heard Lynch is campaigning for an Oscar nod for Ms. Dern, so maybe this is the one. She really blew me away. This film – like all of Lynch's endeavors – is certainly not for everyone. It's vague, bizarre, jumps all over the place, and at times is deeply frightening (one of the few films in a long time to actually give me nightmares), but in my opinion it's also truly beautiful, almost serene. If you like a linear, clear-cut story, then don't see this film. If you appreciate non-linear, surreal drama/horror, however, then by all means go see it. Lynch is independently producing this, so I know he's banking on a lot of word of mouth for Inland Empire to be successful. Help him out. It's a fantastic film. |
Watch All Superheroes Must Die (2011) Full movie Online Posted: 05 Feb 2014 10:52 AM PST All Superheroes Must Die (2011) iMDB Rating: 3.9 Date Released : 4 January 2013 Genre : Sci-Fi, Thriller Stars : Jason Trost, Lucas Till, James Remar, Sophie Merkley Movie Quality : HDrip Format : MKV Size : 870 MB Four Super Heroes find themselves abducted by their Arch Nemesis and are forced to compete in a series of challenges in order to save an abandoned town full of kidnapped innocent civilians. All Superheroes Must Die Movie Review Creative, inventive, and unique. Capably acted "pulp fiction" 80s infused narrative. This movie was always going to be polarizing — it is not a movie made for the masses or really the general viewing public writ large. It is obviously a love letter to the darker and more dystopian themes of exploitation films, 80s action films, and cult horror. There is also plenty of self awareness present here, which is subtle and well played. All Superheroes Must Die is a fantastic little film that, in my opinion, is capably acted. Rickshaw is hilarious and competent. Charge is vulnerable yet determined. Shadow is particularly well acted. The camera shots are inventive, the film pacing is quick and fairly exciting. Not much wasted time here — much like another personal favourite, Showdown in Little Tokyo (though other than the running time, little else is similar). This is also a deeply thematic film. Issues surrounding friendship and particularly "what it means to be heroic" are on display. Nonetheless, it's not very heavy handed, and most people will be more interested to see the creativity on display. Not for conservatives or the rigid. |
Streaming Shaolin Soccer (2001) Full movie Online Posted: 05 Feb 2014 07:25 AM PST Shaolin Soccer (2001) iMDB Rating: 7.3 Date Released : 12 July 2001 Genre : Action, Comedy, Fantasy, Sport Stars : Stephen Chow, Wei Zhao, Yat-fei Wong, Man Tat Ng Movie Quality : BRrip Format : MKV Size : 700 MB After a fateful mistake costing his career, an ex-soccer player bum meets a shaolin kung fu student trying to spread the word of kung fu. The ex-soccer player helps reconcile with his five brothers, and teaches them soccer, adding shaolin kung fu as a twist. Shaolin Soccer Movie Review If you don’t enjoy this movie, you are a bad person Throughout the nearly two hour running time of this movie, the room was a glow with merriment, excitement, and remarks of "Holy crap, that is the coolest thing ever!" Indeed, for this movie is filled with amazing visuals, fantastic fun, and all around goodness. Shaolin Soccer is a harmless movie, the type that mentions the normal morals you might find in a children’s movie (work in teams, don’t let success go to your head, cheating is bad, etc.), without preaching them. Some Shaolin-trained, but for the most part poor and unhappy men get organized in a soccer team with a coach who was crippled in a soccer riot after losing the big game twenty years ago. You’ve got a variety of misfits–the spunky young’n with the steel leg, the obese convenience store clerk who can nearly fly, the plutocratic salary man who uses a style reminiscent of Flying Chimpanzee’s Cotton Belly in Wing Chun. It’s an odd little band, stretching from barely-post adolescent to nearly retirement age. This rag-tag band is quite endearing and it works so well. Sure, there are a few instances of cheap humor, but you’ve got to expect this. The visuals are fantastic, the characterization competent (even if you probably have seen the archetypes before), and it’s a lot of fun, whether it’s the parody of a war movie (which my friend called scant instants before it happened) or the somewhat unusual tribute to Bruce Lee (hint: it’s all in the sunglasses). Should you see this movie? Yes. I’d say this movie deserves 4 1/2 stars out of five based on technical merits, etc. But on fun? That’s right, it gets a million billion stars. Now let’s see what Miramax cut out–25 minutes? Crap. |
Watch Todd and the Book of Pure Evil Full movie Online Posted: 05 Feb 2014 07:10 AM PST Todd and the Book of Pure Evil (2010– ) iMDB Rating: 8.3 Date Released : 14 May 2012 Genre : Comedy, Horror, Sci-Fi Stars : Alex House, Maggie Castle, Bill Turnbull, Melanie Leishman Movie Quality : BRrip Format : MKV Size : 700 MB A stoner metalhead named Todd Smith, his crushee Jenny, his best friend Curtis, and the geeky Hannah, search their high school for a mayhem-causing Satanic spell book, while being opposed by Atticus, the evil guidance councillor. Todd and the Book of Pure Evil Movie Review Like "Buffy" with stoners and more gore "Todd" plays out like a Canadian "Buffy" with a little more risqué humor and lots more gore: a group of high school students team up to fight evil (invariably caused by the titular Book) and have to defend themselves and their fellow students against a monster-of-the-week type occurrence. Except that they don't very often succeed in keeping the body count to a minimum. Being produced outside of the United States, "Todd" is a lot less MOR than most American series: the producers are unafraid to veer off into directions that will send some accidental viewers running for the hills, especially if said viewers have homophobic issues. The four lead characters are well cast, but the supporting actors are simply a joy to watch. Chris Leavins (as guidance counselor Atticus Murphy) and Jason Mewes (as Jimmy the janitor) steal most every scene they're in, but even one-line characters get the talent they deserve. The overall tone is very dry, which brings out the dark humor in even the most gruesome scenes. The ensemble's collective timing is some of the best comedic group work I've yet seen. The only problem I can find with "Todd" is that the 20-minute episode length limits the show to sitcom-like story lines, with little attention spent on larger story arcs: things get out of hand, the gang saves the day (sort of), and things reset for next week's episode. Should it get picked up again, I don't really see "Todd and the Book of Pure Evil" evolving into something that could be quite as heart-wrenching (or as emotionally involving) as Joss Whedon's magnum opus. But hey, if you're a fan of intelligent horror comedy, this show is for you. Here's hoping some guy in a suit will find enough financial incentive to renew "Todd" for a third season. Tell your friends. |
Watch The Awakening Full movie Online Posted: 05 Feb 2014 05:10 AM PST The Awakening (2011) iMDB Rating: 6.5 Date Released : 11 November 2011 Genre : Horror, Thriller Stars : Rebecca Hall, Dominic West, Imelda Staunton, Lucy Cohu Movie Quality : BRrip Format : MKV Size : 700 MB In 1921, in London, the arrogant and skeptical Florence Cathcart is famous for exposing hoaxes and helping the police to arrest con artists. The stranger Robert Mallory tells her that the headmaster of a boarding school in Rookford had invited her to travel to Cumbria to investigate a ghost that is frightening the pupils to death. He also tells that many years ago there was a murder in the estate and recently pupil Walter Portman had died. The reluctant Florence finally accepts to go to Cumbria. On arrival, she is welcomed by governess Maud and the boy Thomas Hill. Soon Florence discovers what had happened to Walter and then the students, teachers and staff are released on vacation, and Florence remains alone with Robert, Maud and Tom in the school. Florence is ready to leave the boarding school when strange things happen, leaving Florence scared. The Awakening Movie Review An elegant, solid but expected ghost story The Awakening is pretty much what you would expect it to be. It's well made with gorgeous cinematography and strong performances from its cast. And the story if unsurprising is solidly made and well told. The film is directed well and builds a nice amount of suspense throughout. At times its confusing because of the sheer amount of convoluted ideals being thrown around. The story concerns an educated young woman who debunks ghost theories. She is approached by the headmaster of a school to help out with a problem concerning the boys being frightened there. After some convincing she arrives at the location and begins her investigation. Many secrets are discovered and it builds to a somewhat expected finale. For those of you who've seen the brilliant films The Others, The Orphanage and The Devil's Backbone there's not much new here. Still it's competently made and there is a nice slow burn of suspense even culminating in some surprising scares and plot twists. Overall it's a old fashioned classic spook fest with a bit of wit and borrowed imagination from slightly better films. A bonus scene features sexy Dominic West in a solid performance shedding his clothes which is much appreciated but unnecessary like the other "bathtub" scene. And there seems to be niche with that running through the proceedings it's almost as if the people involved with making the film knew they had something that wasn't the most original concept so they threw in unnecessary things to kind of lead you astray it's a little manipulative on their part but keeps you engaged as a viewer and you don't feel too cheated at the films conclusion. Overall it's an elegant, solid but expected ghost story. |
Watch Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986) Full movie Online Posted: 05 Feb 2014 03:40 AM PST Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986) iMDB Rating: 7.3 Date Released : 26 November 1986 Genre : Adventure, Comedy, Sci-Fi Stars : William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelley, James Doohan Movie Quality : BRrip Format : MKV Size : 870 MB James Kirk who after rescuing Mr. Spock and bringing him to Vulcan where he is fully restored, is now the most hated man in the universe, because he disobeyed his superiors and killed a Klingon crew and took their ship. After three months on Vulcan, Kirk decides to return to Earth to face the consequences of his actions along with his crew who aided him. Also accompanying them is Mr. Spock, who is still trying to understand his human side. What they don’t know is that an alien probe approaches Earth and is emitting a signal that nullifies all power systems. And it is now vaporizing the planet’s oceans covering the planet in a cloud that covers the earth cutting them off from the sun – the planet’s main source of energy. The President of the Federation sends a transmission telling everyone about what is happening and to stay away from earth. Kirk upon hearing it, checks out the probe’s transmission and Spock postulates that the alien is not hostile merely unaware that it’s … Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home Movie Review Silly but Trek at it's best! 'Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home' is the most popular of the Trek films and quite right too. Not only does it appeal to both fans and non-fans of the show but it revels in the spirit of what Trek has always been about: how perfect and Utopian the citizens of the twenty-third century are compared to their Neanderthal ancestors of the late twentieth century! The film sees Kirk and his crew, in disgrace after disobeying Starfleet orders to save Spock following the events of 'Star Trek III: The Search for Spock', travel to 1986 San Francisco to retrieve a pair of hump-back whales, a species extinct by Kirk's era. The whales are the key to communicating with an alien probe that is in the process of destroying Earth. As well as the non-too-subtle eco-message ('don't allow any animal be hunted to extinction as they may save us all in the future!'), there is much fun to be had as Kirk, McCoy, Uhura, Sulu, Scotty and the ever-logical Spock struggle to integrate themselves into most alien situation they have ever been in. They are clueless about exact-change buses, pizzas and why 1986 doctors think it's a good idea to drill into someone's head. It is very light-hearted at times but I imagine this is the film Gene Roddenberry is most proud of given the way it portrays the best of all our favourite characters and reaches the heart of the ethos of 'Star Trek'. When I first watched this as a child, I wished Kirk would come and let me join him in the twenty-third century. In fact, the only thing that could improve this film would be if the probe had aimed its venegeance entirely at Japan and Norway in retaliation for the sins of these countries' backward twenty-first century 'ancestors'. After all, it's these two countries who will surely bring about the extinction of whales. While this doesn't delve too much into the mythology and background of Trek, it is a great film and deserves to be counted as the best of the ten films. It is also an excellent option for Trek fans trying to convert friends and family to 'seeing the light' and loving Trek! |
Streaming U.S. Marshals Full movie Online Posted: 05 Feb 2014 03:14 AM PST U.S. Marshals (1998) iMDB Rating: 6.5 Date Released : 6 March 1998 Genre : Action, Crime, Thriller Stars : Tommy Lee Jones, Wesley Snipes, Robert Downey Jr., Joe Pantoliano Movie Quality : BRrip Format : MKV Size : 700 MB When a prisoner transport plane crashes, one prisoner, Mark Sheridan, skillfully escapes and save lives at the same time. Deputy Sam Gerard and his team of U.S. Marshals pursue relentlessly, but Gerard begins to suspect that there is more to the exceptional fugitive than what he has been told. Meanwhile, Sheridan struggles to avoid capture while seeking answers of his own. Until the final scene, both Gerard and Sheridan are in jeopardy of the unknown. U.S. Marshals Movie Review Borderline Good U.S. Marshals is the sequel to The Fugitive, but feels more like a remake. Again a victim of injustice is improperly imprisoned, this time Wesley Snipes in the Harrison Ford role. He’s not a surgeon, but a deep undercover spy, the victim of a frame-up of an undisclosed nature. A catastrophic accident frees him (this time a plane crash) and again Tommy Lee Jones is sent to hunt him down. Big-budget, good special effects, A-list actors doing their jobs well; still U.S. Marshals fails to make a big impact. The first quarter starts out great, but by the end of the movie the plot devices are becoming very routine. Not a rip-off, but only C+ to me. |
Watch Return to the Blue Lagoon Full movie Online Posted: 04 Feb 2014 11:48 PM PST Return to the Blue Lagoon (1991) iMDB Rating: 4.9 Date Released : 2 August 1991 Genre : Adventure, Drama, Romance Stars : Brian Krause, Milla Jovovich, Lisa Pelikan, Courtney Barilla Movie Quality : BRrip Format : MKV Size : 700 MB While the general theme of this film resembles “The Blue Lagoon” (the film for which this is a sequel), the basic plot is quite different. We open the film with a ship finding the craft with our original characters in it, Richard and Emmeline dead and Paddy alive. Established in the first film, the only word Paddy ever says is “Richard”, so the crew assumes Richard is the infant’s name. Taken in by Sarah, a widow with an infant baby girl Lilli, Richard (Paddy) is cared for in a return to civilization. Struck by cholera, the crew of the ship start to die and the captain sets Sarah, Richard, Lilli and a healthy crew member on a lifeboat in an attempt to preserve their lives. With water and food running short, the crew member escorting Sarah and the children becomes dangerous, so Sarah takes the only course of action she feels suitable to preserve the children: she strikes him and throws him overboard. Taking control of the small craft, she eventually guides them back to the island of … Return to the Blue Lagoon Movie Review Lukewarm leftovers RETURN TO THE BLUE LAGOON, made 11 years after the successful first film, is one of those movies that's happy to reprise the plot of the original while adding a few twists and tweaks of its own. It's an entirely superfluous kind of film that sees yet another couple of kids washed up on a desert island and having to fend for themselves against nature and their fellow man. There are a few differences here – the adult with them is a woman, the boy is the son of the couple from THE BLUE LAGOON, they're staying in the same place so make use of the already-there house, etc. – but none of them make a difference. Once again the film is all about puberty, isolation, love and family, except as it's not original it feels like a lukewarm rehash of the first movie. The acting doesn't really sit right either. The age gap between Milla Jovovich and Brian Krause is too obvious, and Krause is as equally wooden as Christopher Atkins before him. Jovovich definitely has something feral within her, but less use is made of that as in THE FIFTH ELEMENT, which handled her unique qualities perfectly. Director William A. Graham made a career of TV movies and although RETURN TO THE BLUE LAGOON had a theatrical release, it feels very much like a second-rate outing in every respect. |

George is pressed by the situation which ends … A Place in the Sun Movie Review As a Film, This is Haunting, Tragic Romanticism… George Stevens’ A PLACE IN THE SUN is a poetic film, filled with tender moments, sadness, and pending doom. Having not read the book, I had the pleasure of seeing the material for the first time, which is preferable if you see a film based on a "classic" novel. Montgomery Clift is his usual mysterious self as he has a scandalous relationship with the homely Shelly Winters and falls instantly in love with a spellbindingly beautiful Liz Taylor, who was only 19 when the picture was made. She glows with energy and a sense of optimism about life, a stark contrast to Clift, whom Taylor has also fallen for. Rumor has it they had an actual affair while making the movie. This is not for all tastes, for it is slow, and Clift is not all that appealing. The idea of dropping a lesser life (with Winters) and pursuing the good life with Taylor is what makes it work and the lengths to which Clift will go are staggering. George Stevens has a gift for "painting" a movie on-screen. Just see GIANT, also with Taylor, or SHANE, the other two parts of his "American Trilogy". The scenes on the lake and the way the mood of the movie is painted is quite simply amazing. He also uses slow dissolves that leave a ghostly image on-screen between scenes. This all adds to the atmospheric touch of tragedy that will ensue. Poor Shelly Winters. She always gets a raw deal in films. There are times when you almost sympathize with Clift. Imagine living the life of a socialite with the girl of your dreams and a good job with your family. A life with Winters would be dismal according to Clift and us. What’s right is right, however. An unnecessary court room saga closes the picture to ensure the viewer’s sense of justice. This must’ve been pretty controversial stuff back in the early-50′s A PLACE IN THE SUN truly is an American tragedy, a portrait of young lives gone wrong with post-WWII optimism as a backdrop. Clift and Taylor shine together, and provide film fans with a romance never to be forgotten. The finale is emotionally draining during Taylor’s expression of undying love. Unfortunately, Clift cannot have it all. A beautiful piece of classical Hollywood film-making with a mix of method acting (Clift) and a love story we wish could work. RATING: 8 of 10 |

Only problem is, Sam’s mother is still there, supposedly finishing up a record that she’s producing for the band of her new boy toy, Ian. She seems more interested in smoking pot and drinking than actually working, though. Alex doesn’t mind, but Sam is quite upset. Alex starts off focused on her work (finishing a dissertation on genomics), but is soon distracted by the rock-’n-roll lifestyle going on around her. Meanwhile, Sam is equally distracted by beautiful Israeli intern Sara. Laurel Canyon Movie Review A well-made character study, `Laurel Canyon,’ explores the reasons for the distress and resentment that can reside between parents and their children. People are often disappointed in the ones that love them or the ones that they love. This disappointment can stem from the mistakes made by parents in the upbringing of their children, or perhaps the simple differences that separate family members. It is this frustration that plagues Christian Bale’s character, Sam, in the film `Laurel Canyon.’ A well-made character study, `Laurel Canyon,’ explores the reasons for the distress and resentment that can reside between parents and their children. `Laurel Canyon’ is about a man named Sam (Bale) and his fiancé Alex (Kate Bekinsale) who move to California so he can begin his medical residency at a local hospital and she can finish her dissertation. The pair moves in with Sam’s mom Jane (Frances McDormand) who is record producer who lives on Laurel Canyon Road in Hollywood. Although she is in her mid 40s, she lives the life of a rock star, smoking pot, drinking, partying, and hanging out with her rock star boyfriend Ian (Alessandro Nivola), who is 16 years younger than she. Sam and Jane are always at odds with each other as he is ultraconservative and Jane is like a teenager. The two must weed out their problems and come to terms with each other about the mistakes that Jane made while bringing up Sam. Although a bit slow at times, `Laurel Canyon’ was an interesting film that has its lighthearted and touching moments. It’s funny to watch the subtle changes that begin in the characters lives. Alex, although conservative like Sam, is slowly being drawn into the free spirited world of Jane’s home, with her parties and rock friends always around. Sam is being tempted by the fruit of another woman named Sara (Natascha McElhone), as their share their sexual desires with each other over private conversations in a car. And even Jane is beginning to recognize her own faults-she had several lovers throughout her life is starting to feel the need to settle on just one, Ian. Every character starts to understand that they are all the extreme end of different spectrums and they must learn to meet somewhere in the middle. The acting in the film was excellent. Every actor was believable and to a certain extent, the audience can feel their pain and happiness. McDormand (`Fargo’) and Bale (`Empire of The Sun’) steal the show with their amazing abilities to transcend the characters in the script to the dynamic people they present on the screen. Praise must also be given to Bekinsale (`Pearl Harbor’) and Nivola (`Jurassic Park 3′) for their exceptional performances. One other superior quality of `Laurel Canyon’ was the music, some of which was sung by Nivola. The soundtrack holds a great deal of classic rock songs from groups such as `Steely Dan,’ `Leroy’ and `Mercury Rev.’ Overall, `Laurel Canyon’ was a very good movie that reminds its audience to look beyond the surface of things and to see what really matters in all relationships-love. *** |
